Tibetan Honey Massage

What is a Tibetan Honey Massage?

A Tibetan Honey Massage is a technique where the therapist uses a glue and unglue technique.

How does the massage work?

The organic honey is spread on the vertebral column from occiput to the sacrum. This is called "feeding the spine" and from there both muscular sides of back. The technique is unique to honey massage – instead of gliding, the palmar surface of the hands of the therapist pull up on the skin.
Easy at first, the alternating compressing-lifting touch becomes more difficult with every move because with honey absorbing the salts of sweat and outer layer cells of skin the tension force increases. When sticky it lifts not only skin and subcutaneous tissue, but also the fascia and muscle, improving circulation, helping to relieve tightness and stimulating the reflexive zones of all internal organs. In Tibet, this technique is referred to as "plucking out the contaminated energy".

How long does the treatment last?

The massage session is 75 minutes. The treatment on the area should last until the palms no longer stick to the massaged area, and the honey disappears from it completely, being collected into palms of therapist.

After working on the back, the procedure is repeated on other areas of the body such as legs, arms, and abdomen.

On the face and neck area the honey is applied and worked off with sideways rolling movements of fingertips, resulting a much brighter skin, great for sluggish skin tones.

After the treatment, the skin is cleaned using hot towels.

What are the benefits?

Just to name a few:

*Reduces Pain - Honey has Anti-Inflammatory agents

* Honey stimulates the re-growth of tissue in healing.

*Effects the organs through neural stimulation

*Improves skin with its nourishing agents (honey acts as a humectant-attracts and promotes the retention of water)

Is there any down time after the massage?

Not at all. You can resume your normal activity. The skin may become reddish due to the motion and the tackiness of the honey. That will diminish within hours.

How soon can you feel the benefits of the massage?

You can feel the results immediately!  When you apply the honey directly on the skin, it  absorbs internal toxins, releases them from the body, increases circulation, and delivers a healing dose of antioxidants to repair skin.

Honey is filled with antiseptic and antibacterial properties. It also consists of vitamins, enzymes, antioxidants and probiotics. Honey is enriched with minerals including calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorous and potassium.

How often can you receive this massage?

There is no limit, however 2-3 times a week is suggested.
