Infrared Light Therapy and Massage
Enjoy a Swedish style massage with infrared lights. Infrared light therapy is an effective way for rejuvenating and healing your skin. Infrared light is the heat people feel when exposed to the sun without the sun damage. Studies show that strong light is absorbed by mitochondria and stimulates the collagen production which is the building block of skin structure. The heat and light boost blood circulation, providing more nutrients and blood to your skin. Receiving a gentle massage along with infrared light therapy activates healing in skin and muscle tissue.

Infrared light therapy is an effective way for rejuvenating and healing your skin. Studies show that strong light is absorbed by mitochondria and stimulates the collagen production which is the building block of skin structure. The heat and light boost blood circulation, providing more nutrients and blood to your skin.
A part of your cells called mitochondria, sometimes called the “powerhouse” of your cells, soak it up and make more energy. Some experts think this helps cells repair themselves and become healthier. Receiving a gentle massage along with infrared light therapy activates healing in skin and muscle tissue.

Pain relief
One of the characteristics of infrared light is its ability to penetrate below the skin layers, providing a much greater depth which is able to effectively provide pain relief. This non-invasive, natural, and painless method can provide an enormous range of health benefits, without damaging the skin through UV radiation.
The increase in the blood flow to the different parts of the body makes it possible for oxygen and nutrients to reach the cells, enabling them to function properly and effectively. This therapy stimulates the regeneration and repair of injured tissues reducing pain and inflammation.
How can infrared light help with cellulite and what areas of the body can you treat?
Infrared light penetrates the tissue under the surface of the skin (at about 2 to 7 centimeters deep, reaching the muscles, nerves, and even the bones) and does not affect the top layer of skin. Researchers concluded from studies that absorption of infrared light by mitochondria decreases cellulite, reduces weight, and improves blood lipids. The infrared light causes increased flow of blood, sweat production, and improves circulation in the body. When infrared light is absorbed by the body, it improves health and skin and helps the body to break down fat more effectively and faster.
Infrared light therapy has also scientifically proven to not only help with the reduction of cellulite but it also helps with acne scars reduction, wrinkle reduction, and healing psoriasis. Infrared light is suitable for all skin types and most body areas including the thighs, abdomen, hands, upper arms, and neck, forehead, crow’s feet, chin.
Is Infrared light safe?
Infrared therapy is risk-free, does not hurt, cut, or burn your skin. Infrared light is safe and is used even for infants in the neonatal intensive care unit.
Contraindications for infrared light therapy:
The major contraindications for the use of light therapy are diseases that involve the retina of the eye (such as diabetes) and the use of photosensitizing medications (i.e. lithium, melatonin, phenothiazine antipsychotics and certain antibiotics). You need to consult with your health care provider to see if this is the right treatment for you.
Frequently Asked Questions
*Do I need eye protection?

Can you get a tan from the infrared lights?
It will not make you tan because there are no UVA or UVB that changes the skin's color.
Does it help with Cellulite?
Infrared light therapy is emerging as a safe, natural, non-invasive, and highly effective way to treat cellulite. Red light therapy beneficially alters cellular function to promote health, skin rejuvenation, and significant fat loss.

Suggestions for Best Results: Before & Aftercare
Recommendations to follow if you are thinking to take infrared light therapy for skin tightening and cellulite reduction:
*Primarily consult a dermatologist before you try any treatment. You should be aware of the working and possible impacts of the treatment on health.
*Clean the treatment area before every session.
Typically, the exposure of infrared light rays can be for 90 seconds on the skin. It can be a maximum of 20 minutes per session. Session timing may differ depending on the technique used.
*Most people will not require post treatment care. You should, however, completely avoid sun exposure for up to a week and then use a sunscreen with a minimum spf of 50 on the areas treated, as your skin will be extra sensitive for a few weeks following the treatment.
Disclaimer: May not be suitable for all body types. There is no guarantee of specific results. Results will vary from person to person and are based on factors such as age, lifestyle habits and medical history.
